P&LE GP38-2 No. 2055 leads a six-unit consist eastbound just east of Lowellville, Ohio.

February 1976 - P&LE GP7 #1503 is WB on the LE&E (Lake Erie & Eastern) in Youngstown, Ohio. Today the rail infrastructure and the steel mills you see in this image are all gone.

May 1975 - An unusual motive power consist waits for a signal at the east end of the P&LE Departure Yard in Lowellville, Ohio. Three U28Bs, a GP7 and an SW1500 are assigned to this train.

An eastbound ore train on #4 main passes the switchtender tower at the P&LE's Gateway Yard. The cars in the distance are in the 46-track classification yard.

June 1975 - P&LE GP7 #1503 is WB on the LE&E (Lake Erie & Eastern) at Market Street in Youngstown, Ohio. The 7-mile LE&E was a double-track, CTC railroad. The rails were pulled up in the 80s and today it is all gone.

Detroit Edison engine 007 passes under the hump on the River Track as an eastbound ore train with U28B #2811 on the point heads east on the main.

April 1975 - P&LE GE U28Bs 2811 and 2807 are eastbound on #1 main just east of Lowellville, Ohio. Today only the ex-B&O Chicago main line on the right remains.
