  • His expenses were $382.43. That’s equal to $9,341.70 in 2022.
  • His net income for 1871 was $275.75. That’s equal to 6,735.80 in 2022.

 

Samuel and Helen lived on a farm where they grew most of their own food. Consequently, his net income was a fairly substantial amount for those days.
